Sky: Big blow for Pioli as Milan will be without crucial duo for game against Roma

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will be without centre-back Simon Kjaer for Sunday’s clash against Roma at San Siro, according to the latest reports.

The defender went down in a heap during the first half of Milan’s 4-1 win over Lecce on Monday after a late challenge, and after initially attempting to continue he came off 11 minutes later, replaced by Matteo Gabbia.

Sky Italia (via MilanLive) confirm that the Denmark international has not suffered knee ligament damage, however to remedy the sprain trauma he will be forced to rest a few days and also to skip the next game against Roma.

On Tuesday morning Zlatan Ibrahimovic underwent tests to take stock of the situation on his right calf. His return against Roma is unlikely, but there is a higher chance of seeing him in the squad for SPAL-Milan.

Personal work is still planned for Zlatan at Milanello while he waits to be able to train with the rest of the group.
