There is still a significant distance between AC Milan and Hakan Calhanoglu regarding the renewal of the playmaker, a report claims.
According to what Manuele Baiocchini has told Sky Italia (via MilanLive) Calhanoglu and his entourage have asked for €7million net per season to renew his current contract, which expires in June 2021. The distance between the demands and Milan’s offer is described as ‘enormous’.
That is because the Rossoneri management have proposed a renewal at €3m net per season, therefore half a million more than what he currently receives (€2.5m) – a huge distance which is difficult to bridge.
In the meantime, other big clubs have taken an interest in his situation: above all, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Manchester United. An effort is required from both sides to move towards a middle ground, otherwise it is likely he leaves on a free transfer.
