Sandro Tonali is expected to sign a contract renewal with AC Milan very soon and there will be a significant pay rise for the midfielder. After a successful 2021/22 season, he deserves a new deal.
The midfielder joined Milan on an initial loan deal back in 2020 and when the Rossoneri redeemed him, he agreed to lower his salary. A telling move which then was followed by a great season, making him eligible for a pay rise.
According to Sky Italia, as cited by SempreMilan.it, everything has been defined for the renewal and there is only one meeting left: the actual contract signing. It will take place soon, once the transfer window has closed.
The new contract will keep Tonali at the club until 2027 and his salary should be doubled, thus going from €1.4m to around €3m, which is a sign of trust from the club. Thus far, the midfielder has scored five goals and assisted an additional three with the Milan shirt.
It’s that simple, whoever wants to renew will definitely renew with little, less or no fuss. As soon as anyone’s renewal becomes protracted and maybe tedious then I think it says something contrary to, “I want to stay.” Well I guess they all want to stay with the proviso that the club goes above its wage cap, even those who may have been spectacular for just the half of a season. Having said that, I don’t really know how Rafael’s renewal will go especially because he has to pay his old club some money so I think I should be logical and say that he’d want a contract that reimburses him whether he gets it from Milan or from erm… the English super league. Personally, I’d like to see him stay for the continuity of the project but if right now there’s some ostentatiously rich club willing to pay even £100m then I say we grab it with all limbs. Milan will still be Milan!
Agree. I would love to see him stay for around 6m/year. If someone bids 100m+ though, I’ll lack his bags for him and drove him to the airport LOL

None of them took several months to sign the papers. They were willing to continue and didn’t ask for absurd amounts.

Its 6/7M which is what a trash player like Rabiot makes. And if you don’t think Chelsea or another big club will pay him that you are foolish.
