Sky Germany: Kalulu to Bayern Munich a ‘cold’ track after agent talks – the reason

By Oliver Fisher -

Bayern Munich have spoken with the agents of AC Milan defender Pierre Kalulu but they have not made much progress due to the stance of his club.

The increasingly imminent sale of Benjamin Pavard to Inter is in fact forcing Thomas Tuchel’s team to look for a replacement and one of the main names on the list is Kalulu, as we confirmed yesterday.

According to what was reported by Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany (via ScoutCalcio), Bayern did indeed have some contacts with the agents of Kalulu, but according to their the track is ‘cold’.

The reason for this is quite simple: ‘Milan wants to keep him’. Losing a key piece of depth in two defensive positions with just four days of the transfer window left would be a potentially destabilising move.

Not only that, but time is running out for a replacement to be found too, so it seems there is not much momentum in the Bayern-Kalulu story at present.

  1. Not only that inter get strengthened as a direct result. If a big club wants him now they’ll want him again and it should be on Milan’s terms

  2. It’s crazy if they decided to sell Kalulu.

Florenzi already 32 years old and how his prone to long injury that made him not available for months. Florenzi still have contract until 2025 but i can see him leave next season to a small club.

And Calabria wasn’t always plays solid either.

If Kalulu got sold then there’s no decent backup for RB.

    1. I think you are in for a disapointment if you believe florenzi will join a small team next season because no smaller teams will be able to offer him his 3 mil salary per year.

        1. as much as ive always liked florenzi and that goies beyond his time with us i agree and simply cant see him leaving before that happens. Anyways i think its good to have some very experienced players to balance the locker room and he also helps with the homegrown european quota which was also the reason he was called up to last years cl while long term inured because otherwise we would have lost a spot in the squad.

  3. “Milan wants to keep him”

Isn’t that completely opposite to the “feeder club”-status our own fans have given us? I mean, surely the FANS were right and the owners are only in it for the money and what is the easiest way to get money (based on them) but selling players? I’m so confused… 😀 😀 😀

    1. It it was July 29, and not August 29, he’d have been gone. I don’t know if that makes us a feeder club, but receiving 20-30m for essentially a backup player you paid 1m for is good business.

  4. Is that 41 mil euros market value I see there ? Wow… His value has been on the up.
I honestly prefer him at RB though. Would give Calabria decent competition for the spot…. But eh.. Pioli
