Sky: Gonzalo Higuain ‘tempted’ by AC Milan move

By Isak Möller -

According to Sky Italia, AC Milan have advanced in their pursuit of Juventus’ Gonzalo Higuain, who looks set to leave the Bianconeri this summer.

Juventus have just signed Cristiano Ronaldo and will be looking to offload a few players in order to gain cash, with Higuain being a likely candidate for a departure. In fact, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, the Argentinian striker wouldn’t say no to a Milan move, as he often visits the city and has a lot of friends there.

Furthermore, Di Marzio’s colleague Peppe Di Stefano claims that Higuain has text messaged some of his friends at Milanello in order to understand the club’s situation, exploring the opportunity of joining the San Siro side. However, as of now, it’s difficult to understand the intentions of the parties in terms of price.

Milan will certainly give it a try, though, as Higuain’s arrival would boost their chances of winning the title. The Rossoneri are currently distant 20/1 underdogs for the 2019 Serie A title, behind Juventus (3/7), Napoli (13/2), Roma (15/2), and Inter (15/2) according to the betting sites reviewed at MyTopSportsbooks.com.

The additions of ageing keeper Pepe Reina and 30-year-old defender Ivan Strinic perhaps aren’t seen as difference-makers, but Higuain could certainly lift the fans’ spirit.
