Sky: Guirassy, Buongiorno, Jimenez, Romero – the latest on Milan’s negotiations

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are not done after the signing of Filippo Terracciano and they are working on various other options, not just for January but in view of the summer too.

Sky writes how strategies often change on the fly and this is the case for Milan, because in the last few hours it has become increasingly clear that a possible investment will be made on a centre-back and not a striker.

The difficulties in signing Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy – coupled with Luka Jovic’s good performances and Olivier Giroud’s return to scoring – have convinced the Rossoneri management to shift attention to the defence.

In the last few hours, Milan had started contacts with Radu Dragusin’s entourage to understand if it would be possible to set up an operation with the inclusion of Lorenzo Colombo as a counterpart.

However, these were just chats and there were no formal steps with Genoa , while Tottenham are ahead of everyone and are increasingly close to signing the Romanian, even if Bayern Munich’s interest should be noted.

For Milan the latest idea is Alessandro Buongiorno of Torino, a name that popped up a few weeks ago and which could gain traction again. Even in this case it is necessary to understand the costs, but again Colombo would be included in the operation.

In the meantime, talks are open with Real Madrid for the permanent signing of Alex Jimenez. The option to buy is set at €5m, but Rossoneri would like to pay less up front by inserting bonuses that could see Real collect more money at a later time.

On the other hand, Luka Romero is leaving and has opened up to a loan to Serie B side Como amid his lack of playing time. There was direct contact between the player and Cesc Fabregas which helped them overcome the competition from Lecce.

    1. For no reason? LOL. Have you seen Romero play? He’s like a smaller and lighter little brother of Brahim Diaz. He can’t handle the physicality of the game yet. He has done nothing on the pitch in Serie A so far. Not even glimpses of anything.

  2. i don’t believe the club should buy any players with other clubs have option to get him buck , we are not small club to develop players for other clubs , we are milan for god sake ,
if the club believe in his talent buy him with no Buy-back clause

    1. Unfortunately we are kind of a small club when it comes to FINANCIAL power. So we have to haggle over every single price no matter how big or small. So while our HISTORY is that of a big club – right now – financially, we are not sadly
