Sky: Half the Milan squad show up to train despite rest day granted

The AC Milan squad must find a way to turn around their dreadful current form and some players have taken a step towards that, a report claims.

Sky (via MilanNews) reported that at the end of the 5-2 defeat against Sassuolo yesterday there was a long discussion between technical director Paolo Maldini, sporting director Ricky Massara and the new CEO Giorgio Furlani to analyse the complicated situation.

However, they decided that there was to be no changes to the plans for the next two days, which means that the day off the players were supposed to have today was to remain standing.

According to reports from Sky (via MilanNews), Pioli did give his players a day off after the game yesterday but despite this around half the team showed up at Milanello to train. That shows that in the squad there is the awareness that much more needs to be done to get out of this crisis.

    1. You’re right there, and that’s one of the reasons I fear for him if he should leave and join a Premier League club. They are going to expose his laziness

  1. They should all be there thinking about their sins since the start of 2023 and how to resolve this mess, including the post world cup games with Liverpool and Arsenal. The house just came tumbling down and no one is raking responsible, least of all our MVP of 2022

  2. I guess maldini wait until the derby, he already have the name for Pioli replacement if failed on the pitch. Please for God shake, give some rest for Tata. Hes stress. Give chance to another GK.

  3. I hope Theo showed up.
Because he should be docked pay for the disaster class he put on the field yesterday. He had a hand in 4 out of the 5 goals Sassuolo scored.
He has been on par with Tatarusanu Milan worst players in 2023 so far

  4. I wish they all stayed at home!
They should be thinking hard about what they want.
We’ve heard all the “hard work is needed” over and over. What they need is a hard think

  5. Every failure is potential for new beginning. If this squad fails to reach one of 4 first places it would be fair expecting many of those players without impact to leave.

    1. Oh a whole lot of them need to leave whatever happens. Problem is many will refuse and others no-one will want.
Plus Redturd want spend money to replace them.
The summer of 2022 will have a long legacy for Milan, the summer our fledgling project was killed

  6. I think it’s time Pioli start believing in the back ups, like adli, cdk, thiaw and Vasquez or mirante.pioli must be boled enough to take decisions

  7. I’m not sure coming in on a rest day is the right thing to do. rest days should be part of post-match recovery. This is just for show. They should be told to rest, and then come back and train properly at the right time. This is how injuries occur.

  8. This is the stage we all need to appreciate ZLATAN role and effect on the team during last seasons scudetta campaign, for some of us shouting what use is he to the Team cos he was not playing, he comes with this mentality of if your are wearing the Milan Jessy you don’t, behave anyhow. I so much miss him
