Sky journalist Marchetti offers update on Milan’s mercato strategy

By Oliver Fisher -

Sky journalist Luca Marchetti has offered some updates on Milan’s strategy in the current mercato.

Two players have arrived so far in Theo Hernandez and Rade Krunic, with Leo Duarte, Rafael Leao and Ismael Bennacer set to follow imminently.

Despite this, the Rossoneri’s mercato shows little sign of slowing down, with Angel Correa and Dennis Praet strongly linked at present.

Marchetti told Sky Sport 24: “The fact that Silva is available to Giampaolo is not trivial. Giampaolo has three different strikers with different characteristics.

“This is so he can understand what the best pairs may be, or if it is necessary to continue to intervene on the market, to get a second striker.

“All coaches have players with whom they are familiar because they have already worked together, and when they go to a new team they suggest them for purchases. Milan did this in part.

“It could have happened with defenders, but it didn’t happen because Milan prefers to invest in players in which they see a career with Milan.”
