Sky journalist not buying Conte-Milan rumours: “Different profiles in mind”

By Oliver Fisher -

Sky journalist Luca Marchetti does not believe that Antonio Conte represents the number one choice for AC Milan when it comes to potentially replacing Stefano Pioli.

After the news launched earlier in the week by Luca Momblano live on Telelombardia in which he claimed that Conte has reached a verbal agreement to take over at Milan, the rumours have gone into overdrive again.

There is no doubting that Pioli’s future at the club is increasingly uncertain given that Milan are potentially heading for another trophy-less season and are so far behind the teams above them.

A number of names have been linked as his potential replacement but Conte is among the most divisive, both among fans and the media.

Some think he is a realistic option but others – like Luca Marchetti – do not think that he is taken into serious consideration, as he told TMW Radio (via Radio Rossonera).

“I have the belief that Milan have different profiles in mind, such as Thiago Motta and Palladino. Let’s not forget that when you have Conte as coach you also have to orient the market in a certain way,” he began.

Without going into too much detail on the news of his possible arrival or not, the commentator and commentator Riccardo Trevisani shared the idea that for Milan, Conte could be the right coach.

“If Stefano Pioli has to go you have to take someone who can guarantee you something more at Milan. In this sense I think that Conte has demonstrated in his career that he is a formidable coach.

“Then no one is perfect, coaches make mistakes and can make mistakes, God forbid him. I am convinced that Conte is very good,

“I don’t know when and how much he will reach, I don’t know how much he will have available, I don’t know what material there will be but it is a choice that I would absolutely agree with.”

  1. How desperate is Conte? Keeps having all his media friends create these fake stories to try and force the move. No thank you. We have enough problems.
