Sky journalist offers key update on Correa move: “Milan won’t let go until…”

AC Milan are willing to go down to the wire to secure the signing of Angel Correa from Atletico Madrid, one journalist claims.

Not content with the signings of Theo Hernandez, Rade Krunic, Rafael Leao and Ismael Bennacer this summer, Milan are still hard at work in the mercato.

The club seem determined to add a fresh attacker who can play as a second striker, and at the moment links are strongest with Correa.

We recently revealed that personal terms have already been agreed with the Argentine, but that distance remains between the clubs over a transfer fee.

Speculation this week have suggested that the player could force Atleti’s hand and help Milan secure his signature, while it was even sensationally claimed by a report in Spain that the player has handed in a transfer request.

Now, Sky Sport 24‘s Alessandro Sugoni has given an update on the situation: “The player’s will is to go to Milan.

“There are obstacles, such as the rather high valuation of Atletico Madrid. Milan still have not let go however, and probably won’t let go until September 2nd.”
