Sky: Juventus striker ready to snub Milan move; Man Utd in pole position

By Oliver Fisher -

Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic is not interested in a move to Milan in the January transfer window, a report claims.

All the mercato speculation at present is centered around Milan adding a striker with experience to help an attack which has scored just 11 goals in their opening 12 games of the season, their lowest amount at this stage since 1994.

Rossoneri director Zvonomir Boban bemoaned the fact that the club did not sign experienced players in the summer, and we reported that there is a budget in January to add exactly that.

A shock report from il Giornale (via Goal) last month claimed that Milan had agreed personal terms with Mandzukic and that Juventus had given the green light for him to join.

However, the focus now seems to have shifted towards Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Sky Italia – as cited by Calciomercato.com – suggest that Mandzukic will definitely not be arriving.

Premier League outfit Manchester United have been strongly linked, and the former Bayern Munich man is apparently keen on a move abroad rather than to Milan.

As the report notes, the 33-year-old has scored 31 goals and provided 14 assists in 118 league appearances for the Bianconeri.
