Stefano Pioli is expected to make some changes to the starting XI for tomorrow’s clash, which is understandable. Some players could use a rest, such as Simon Kjaer and Sandro Tonali, and the backups are more than capable for this clash.
According to Manuele Baiocchini of Sky Italia, Matteo Gabbia will replace Kjaer in the heart of the defence. In midfield, Rade Krunic will surprisingly get the nod alongside Ismael Bennacer, with Brahim Diaz starting as the No.10.
Finally, Junior Messias will have the chance to build on his nice goal against Salzburg, starting on the right flank. Divock Origi will be the man to aim at with the crosses and not Olivier Giroud, who was the undisputed man of the match last time out.

The double pivot worked mostly because of Kessie. With him gone, Milan should go to 3 mids to provide more balance and protection for the defense .
Also very important for the success of the double pivot was Saelemakers. Most fans only look at his g/a stats, but his defensive contributions are neglected. He played more as a mezzala than as a winger , and was that pseudo 3rd midfielder.
Any variation of 433, 4321, or 4312 is more suited for our current players.
I’d like to see in some games when Leao is resting the 4321 formation, with CDK & Brahim behind the striker

Kjaer should be starting as long as he’s fit, especially as magic Mike is out injured because this backline lacks coordination.
Kjaer is world class and needs more game time going into the world cup. Did we forget how class he was before he got injured. Denmark could reach the semi finals atleast too. They might even win it. He plays for milan and his country.Lord krunic is more valuable than leao in my eyes. He also is milan through and through. Very versatile. Leao has the wrong attitude and is so inconsistent. He can only play one position and do one move. I hope leao goes. He’ll turn into a balotelli if he continues on this path. We can change our formation if he leaves. Have two up front. Leao cant even play on the right. Poor rebic has too. If leao was so good we would play him on the right.
Well it’s sad if Olivier Giroud does not start this match
As he is a class act ,and at the moment his form is tops .,but I suppose that sometimes all players need a rest .
even if he does not start he can still come on and score a goal ..I have to say this but Giroud is simply the best guy around within the 18 yard area ,and his technical ability second to none .Yes the man is world class .lots more goals to come from Olivier .
