Today is an important day in the renewal talks with Rafael Leao as a crucial meeting is scheduled to take place at Casa Milan this afternoon.
In fact, Ricky Massara and Paolo Maldini have been spotted arriving at the headquarters ahead of the discussions, with Fabrizio Romano providing the following update on the situation:
“Milan board will meet with his father to discuss about the contract situation – there will be new proposal in the next days. Current deal expires in 2024, €150m release clause. ‘We’re confident to sign new deal’, Milan director Massara says.”
Meanwhile, Sky are reporting that Leao’s father is expected today at Casa Milan and in the coming days he will be joined by the player’s new agent, a lawyer who replaced Jorge Mendes.

If mendes is out of the equation then this is huge, getting more confident on a renewal now.
Strange that they parted with Mendes. He seemed sure to get them top dollar at Milan or elsewhere. I wonder if they blame him for the Sporting debacle. Well, maybe luck is on our side for once…
If mendes is out, it could be a good thing. Based on that info, they may ask Milan to pay the sporting fine and accept a lower salary, which may not be that bad. Hopefully greed doesn’t play cus if it does, the deal will be a shit show

Mendez, “new piece of sh*t agent” is out. That means that he didn’t convinced Leao to move to England. Let him sign and it will be a beautiful end of this saga.
Agree, great news that Mendes is out. I do believe that Milan can still get Leao to agree to a new extension that doesn’t go to the full $7M per year that he wants (especially if we help out w/ the Sporting Lisbon cost); because Leao would be dumb not to increase his current annual salary of only $1.8M to something MUCH MUCH higher even if it’s between $5M and $6M. If we (Milan) did nothing for the next year and a half, he would be losing a lot and leaving a lot of money on the table. Who knows if he will suffer some serious injury? It happens… why not get guaranteed more money now right away and extend contract with Milan a bit longer (get help w/ Sporting fee) and yet if you’re Leao, you still have potential to get signed by a more wealthy club in a year from now anyway for bigger annual salary if you keep playing well with Milan and improving. It’s a win-win situation for Leao and Milan.
Rui Costa asked his jnr team(Benfica) to stay away from Mendez . Maybe Rui’s advice is palying a part here. Mendez is very very greedy.
Hopefully it means if we get a 7m/y deal agreed, it won’t get turned into 9 mil per year demand with news that PSG is now interested .
