Sky journalist says Maldini is convincing Botman in Hernandez-esque manner

Along with Ricky Massara, Paolo Maldini has done tremendously well to build this AC Milan side, despite a very tight budget. The club legend has brought back the old spirit and his presence is very important.

In addition to re-establishing the important culture at the club, the director has also been able to convince many players to join Milan. Theo Hernandez is the perfect example, hand-picked by the former left-back in the summer of 2019.

As Sky Italia journalist Angelo Mangiante highlighted in his tweet earlier today, Hernandez has previously revealed that it was impossible to say no to Maldini. this seems to be repeating itself with Sven Botman, who is the Rossoneri’s No.1 target for the summer.

“Having the strongest defender in history as a director opens up a preferential lane. Theo Hernandez revealed that he could never say no to the call of the legend Paolo Maldini. The same, given Newcastle who also offered more, is happening with Sven Botman,” he wrote.

Botman’s agent were at Casa Milan earlier today (see video here) and Fabrizio Romano stated that the meeting was positive. Newcastle are also interested but Milan seem to have the upper hand in the race right now.
