According to Di Marzio, it will take some time before AC Milan will make a decision on who is going to take the bench next season.
The wait is caused by Maldini not giving a final decision, and thus the club wants to wait for his reply. Should the club legend accept the new role as sporting director, then the Rossoneri will follow his indications.

The two names on Maldini’s list are Simone Inzaghi of Lazio, also the brother of former AC Milan superstar Pippo Inzaghi, and Marco Giampaolo of Sampdoria.
As it seems, Giampaolo would be an easier option for the San Siro side, as Lazio don’t want to part with their manager this summer. Therefore, a compensation fee could be required to land Inzaghi, which speaks in Giampaolo’s favour.
