Sky: Mandzukic believes he can amaze – what made Milan decide to accelerate his arrival

By Oliver Fisher -

The fact AC Milan have lost Hakan Calhanoglu to COVID-19 forced the management to wrap up the Mario Mandzukic deal, it is claimed.

PBP told us how a total agreement has been reached over a contract that could last 18 months, with six months guaranteed plus another year which will automatically be triggered in case of personal objectives (appearances) and qualification for the Champions League.

According to what Gianluca Di Marzio has told Sky Italia (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri decided to accelerate the operation to bring in the Croatian striker, a decision triggered by Calhanoglu’s positive test.

Even though they don’t play in the same position, the thinking of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara is that Milan need immediate reinforcement, having dissolved their reserves. They called intermediaries this morning and closed the operation.

The player will undergo medical examinations as early as tomorrow morning and believes he can amaze everyone with his physical condition.
