Sky: Milan close to being able to announce signings of two midfielders – the details

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are closing in on completing the signings of two midfielders in the coming days, a report claims.

According to what Gianluca Di Marzio told Sky Italia on Thursday night (via MilanLive), the Rossoneri are close to sealing deals for Chelsea’s Tiemoué Bakayoko and Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz. Both deals will be concluded with the formula of a loan with option to buy.

It is a welcome boost for head coach Stefano Pioli who has preached about getting midfield reinforcements through the door  ahead of the first official match of the season; the Europa League qualifier on 17 September.

Bakayoko and Brahim Diaz could be the first real reinforcements of the current window. The Frenchman would come in and be able to rotate with Ismael Bennacer and/or Franck Kessie in Pioli’s 4-2-3-1, while Brahim would likely replace Giacomo Bonaventura as deputy to Hakan Calhanoglu but can also play on the wing.
