Sky: Milan eye 26-year-old as possible Calhanoglu replacement – two counterparts of interest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are lining up Mattia Zaccagni in case Hakan Calhanoglu leaves and could include a counterpart to sweeten the deal, a report claims.

Zaccagni was one of the most impressive players for Verona last season, racking up a combined 10 goal contributions in 36 league appearances this season, including 5 goals and 5 assists, but now Ivan Juric has left and is seems the playmaker could follow.

According to the latest from Sky Italia (via MilanNews), Zaccagni is indeed a target for the Rossoneri management in case Calhanoglu were to decide to leave the club and to reject the renewal offer on the table. Not only that, but Milan could offer Mattia Caldara or Andrea Conti as counterparts to land Zaccagni, who also continues to be linked with Napoli.

Il Corriere di Verona (via MilanNews) recently reported that Napoli have an interest in signing Zaccagni from Hellas once the window reopens but recently Milan also carried out some enquiries for the 26-year-old.

  1. Mattia Zaccagni is not at that level to play in the Champions League and has no knowledge like Hakan Calhanoglu.
I think it’s a lie because I don’t believe that Milan wants to bring a weaker player to the team they prefer high. Mattia Zaccagni can’t play in Milan, he is the level of one Udinese and Samdoria.
That would be a big miss

    1. Seriously? You can even predict which player is good and not for milan??Hakan just found his form in milan after corona break in 2020. His performance wa also like roller coaster a.k.a not consistent. He doesn’t even have a lot of experience in CL as well. Yet you said he has more knowledge? Come on mate.. are you kidding me??
