Sky: Milan eyeing move for Burnley midfielder on free transfer – the situation

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of the summer, AC Milan are working to identify potential targets as Ralf Rangnick is expected to lead the youth revolution. Along with CEO Ivan Gazidis, it will be up to the German to pick the right squad.

According to a report from Sky UK, the Rossoneri have added Jeff Hendrick to their list of targets. The Burnley midfielder’s contract will expire at the end of the season, meaning he will be available on a free transfer.

The English side are hopeful that the 28-year-old will remain at the club, as talks over a contract renewal continue. For now, though, he’s free to negotiate with other clubs and Milan expressed their interest prior to the Coronavirus outbreak.

As the report concludes, the Rossoneri are currently evaluating their options ahead of the summer window. Given his age, perhaps Hendrick isn’t the right profile for Rangnick, who usually aims to sign players under the age of 24.
