Sky: Kessie unable to resume training with Milan due to logistical delay

By Oliver Fisher -

It was expected that Franck Kessie would return to training with the rest of the AC Milan squad today at Milanello but he will not be there, a report claims.

Kessie’s Ivory Coast took on Egypt in the Round of 16 of the AFCONs last week and they eventually lost on penalties. To make matters worse for the midfielder, he went off with an injury, playing just 28 minutes of the game as he was forced to be subbed off after seemingly twisting something.

However, the Ivorian midfielder then underwent a check-up that ruled out injuries of any kind and the player is feeling much better than he did after the injury.

According to what Peppe Di Stefano has told Sky Italia (via MilanNews), Kessie was not present at Milanello today as he has not yet returned from Africa. Despite this, it is not a case of the 25-year-old going AWOL but rather just a logistical delay.

  1. He’s supposed to come back when his national team is out. Look Bennacer… Kessie is just enjoying extra holidays. Not professional at all.
