Sky: Milan’s predicted XI for Torino clash – Chukwueze and Pulisic from start

AC Milan will take on Torino in the season opener tomorrow and contrary to reports earlier today, Christian Pulisic could start in the No.10. As such, it could be an attacking-minded starting XI in Paulo Fonseca’s official debut.

Milan gained some valuable confidence during the pre-season as they won four out of five games, drawing the other. The latest display, against Monza in the Trofeo Silvio Berlusconi, was encouraging especially in the second half.

According to Sky Italia this afternoon, as opposed to the report earlier today, Fonseca will capitalise on the attacking momentum by starting Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the tandem and Pulisic as the No.10. The report also has Samuel Chuwkwueze starting on the right flank.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Tomori, Gabbia, Hernandez; Bennacer, Loftus-Cheek; Chukwueze, Pulisic, Leao; Morata.

It’s an XI that most fans have been crying out for, giving space to the in-form wingers by putting Pulisic in the centre, but it remains to be seen how the players will handle the defensive balance. One would have to assume that Tijjani Reijnders is first off the bench.

In any case, it should make for an exciting first clash underneath the floodlights at San Siro.

  1. I have high expectations from Chuckweze this championship season. 10 goals and 10 assists, minimum. Chucku start with a goal in the first round .
We have to pave the AC Torino. Let’s start the championship strong with a dominant attitude.

    1. I hope you are right but I have a much lower opinion of Chuku. He’s a one footed player who holds the ball too long and always has to cut back onto his left foot. A couple of good performances in the pre-season against B-side players doesn’t get me as excited as some on here but I guess we’ll see.

      1. It’s not mainly his performances that get me excited. It’s his the trust from the coach and new glow that comes with him. He has looked mych better with the ball nd more confident in his actions. He just needs to read the game and situations better. To know when to dribble and when to pass. He has had too little time on the pitch under Pioli to not be in a hurry to show himself. Now I’m hoping for more calmness.

    2. Chuky has the technique, but he is too weak in strenght to play in a hard tackle league like Serie A, just like Brahim Diaz and Castillejo were. Too easy for the defenders to disposses and push him away.

  2. Sometimes all these complaints about chukwueze’s One foot gets to me. Arjen Robben had one foot. Tiery Henry had one foot. Even Messi plays predominantly with his left foot, Yamal plays with one foot. Why can’t chukwueze be?

    1. If he was anywhere near as talented as those players you mentioned I wouldn’t mind but that is probably the first and last time anyone will ever mention Chukuweze in the same breath as those players.
