Sky: Milan will be able to call upon Tonali for game against Empoli

By Oliver Fisher -

Stefano Pioli should be able to call upon his first choice midfielder for the game against Empoli next weekend, according to a report.

It has been a nightmare international brea for Milan so far given that two starters in Mike Maignan and Theo Hernández have sustained muscle problems that will keep them out for for a month and a couple of weeks respectively.

However, Sky (via PianetaMilan) are reporting that some positive news has arrived regarding Sandro Tonali who was sent home from the retreat with Italy by Roberto Mancini after some problem with his muscle condition.

Despite that worrying news, it is reported that Tonali will be available to Pioli for the Serie A match against Empoli and therefore should take up a spot in the double pivot alongside Ismael Bennacer, which will be crucial in shielding what could be a changed defence at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.
