Sky: Probable Milan XI to face Monza – Kjaer and Pobega to start

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan and Monza will take on each other at San Siro tomorrow and the Rossoneri are hoping to get back to winning ways in the league. Compared to the mid-week clash against Newcastle, Stefano Pioli is set to make two changes.

Pioli will have to do without the likes of Davide Calabria and Yunus Musah tomorrow, with the former serving a suspension and the latter suffering from muscle fatigue. That is, of course, in addition to the already injured players.

As reported by Sky Italia (via m4rkphilips on X), Calabria will be replaced by Simon Kjaer who has recovered from his injury. Alessandro Florenzi will thus move over to the right side, with the vice-captain Theo Hernandez reclaiming his spot on the left.

Probable Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Florenzi, Kjaer, Tomori, Hernandez; Loftus-Cheek, Reijnders, Pobega; Pulisic, Giroud, Leao.

In midfield, Tommaso Pobega is ahead of Ismael Bennacer for the spot that Musah has left vacant. The Italian came off the bench against Newcastle and the Algerian only just came back, perhaps not ready to start a game.

Over 70k are expected at San Siro tomorrow and it should make for a great atmosphere, with the Rossoneri in need of three points to compete with the top teams.

        1. Ah shut up bro…this manager has outstayed him time now. Time for a refresh…don’t insult the team and the name ac Milan by continuing to push for him.

          1. Maldinis Heir is nevertheless correct in that assesment, no reason to bash any of our players or coach so some of you should either take his advice and find a different club to support or straighten up and show actual support to the crew involved with this squad.

    1. Agreed. For once. And I don’t see why Bennacer can’t start. You can always bring Pobega in later. (Nothing against the guy, he’s nice, but just not Milan caliber)

    1. More and more comical. Now even when the senior players, who are actually paid to play for the first team, are fit, fans ask for the kids. Y’all should go watch the Primavera championship.

    2. I see RLC, Reijnders, and Pulisic in the lineup. So how come you can say Pioli doesn’t give new blood a chance?

Fvck. I see some people in here keeps complaining Reijnders always plays.

    1. Maybe he can actually play all these games?

It does happen, that elite athletes can plan a few times a week.

The great Barca side with Messi had multiple players who’d play 50+ games a season.

I just think some fans don’t like the idea of this because they prefer to talk about ‘depth’ and therefore transfers. This idea that we need American football sized squads with all the transfers.

Maybe the fitness coaches at Milan know more than you do?

      1. Reijnders has been looking visibly tired and his production has dropped. He does need a break. That’s a fact. And the fitness coaches at Milan suck, as demonstrated by Milan having the largest number of muscle injuries of ALL teams on the planet, currently.

      2. ikr

These people keeps complaining Reijnders always plays and demand Pioli to bench him. But then they complaint Pioli doesn’t give new blood a chance when he actually did gave them a chance.

At this point, these du*mfvcks only complaint for the sake of complaining and wants to make themself looks smarter than Pioli and coaches fitness team.

        1. Even though i respect piolis choices even if i sometimes might disagree with them its not completely bonkers either to give the man a rest to avoid a potential injury either but i’m definitely not saying that we should field a primavera player instead.

    1. Romero sucks when he plays as RW and you want him to play as midfield? Lmao.

Romero definitely needs more time to learn before he get start or even play outside his role.

  1. Why isn’t Bennacer playing and why is Deers still starting yet another game ? 🤷‍♂️ Pioli rests those who needs to play and plays those who need a rest 🤦‍♂️

  2. Monza is one of the best possession based teams in the league (better than us).. just let them have the ball and counter attack. Let’s not try to be hero and impose our game and all that. We can do that vs other teams

  3. So Bennacer who needs to get some minutes is not starting but Reijnders who is visibly tired on the decline and tired is yet again starting ?
