Sky: More uncertainty as Maldini ponders future and Ibrahimovic is unhappy with Gazidis

By Oliver Fisher -

There is yet more uncertainty at AC Milan as Paolo Maldini is reflecting upon his position, a report claims, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic is angry again.

Over the last few months there had been persistent speculation regarding Ralf Rangnick’s imminent arrival as manager, but during the first half of Tuesday night’s win over Sassuolo reports began to emerge stating otherwise.

Kicker were the first to state that the German would not join and that in fact Stefano Pioli would sign a new deal and remain, something the club confirmed after the game.

According to Sky Italia (via MilanNews), it remains to be understood whether Paolo Maldini will remain after all. The fact that Gazidis chose to bypass him and go to Rangnick in the first place did not go down well, and therefore the former captain will take a few days to decide whether or not to stay at Milan.

Meanwhile, Sky journalist Manuele Baiocchini added that Ibrahimovic came out of Milanello not smiling. The feeling is that he expected – given yesterday’s goals and performance – a word from Gazidis, which did not arrive.
