Sky: Optimism filters as Milan are keen on keeping Florenzi – the offer made

By Isak Möller -

Alessandro Florenzi arrived at AC Milan on an initial loan deal ahead of this past season and it looks like he will remain at the club. Negotiations are ongoing with Roma and optimism filters, a report claims.

The experienced Italian was brought in as a versatile solution but mainly as a right-back backup. Throughout the season, he played as a right-back, left-back and right-winger for the Rossoneri and he clearly impressed the management.

According to Sky Italia (via MilanNews), there is no doubt that Milan want to keep Florenzi beyond the loan period. There is a €4.5m clause in the contract but Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are working on a discount, having offered €2.5m.

The feeling, per the report, is that the outcome of the situation will be positive as optimism has filtered from both sides. It makes sense to keep Florenzi and not just because of his experience, but also his performances on the pitch.

  1. LOVE Florenzi! A vet; players love him as a teammate. And versatile — can play right back but also of course further up the pitch at RW (and he’s better than Saele and Messias).
