It seems as though Yacine Adli could get his first start of the season after all with Stefano Pioli strongly considering using him as Rade Krunic’s replacement.
That is according to Sky (via MilanNews) who gave an update in view of tomorrow’s match away against Cagliari. They stated Pioli is increasingly thinking of fielding Adli in front of the defence in place of the injured Krunic.
It would be the Frenchman’s first start of the season, and it would be in a position that he was used in throughout preseason, meaning Pioli will stick to his guns. Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tijjani Reijnders should play alongside him.
In attack, there should be rest for Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud and therefore a new-look trident formed of Samuel Chukwueze, Noah Okafor and Christian Pulisic. We will see if these hypotheses will be confirmed in the final session scheduled for this afternoon at Milanello.

Since Adli seems to be getting the nod I can’t wait for the “I told you sos” from either camp when he turns out to be good or bad.
To be very honest some fans here are either suffering from brain tumour or are mentally ill, everything is literally a problem for real.
If you do the positive it’s a problem, if you do the negative it’s a problem, they will complain of a particular thing, when u go back to correct it, it’s still a problem.
And barely finished the game visibly suffering from cramps.
With Krunic out injured they’d better be very careful with our remaining midfield players.
Can’t believe it until seen it in the field
Reijnder is not so effective as mezzala in 3 midfielders. His finishing is terrible. He should play a little deeper as box to box in 2 midfielders in 4231 like Tonali did, or as MC in 442.
It will be exciting to see Adli in this position. Even if he doesn’t deliver too well, I just want to see what he can do!

I don’t understand why people want to see adli play so much. Didn’t u guys saw last season everytime he played he looked so clueless and not very sure of himself. Idk maybe it’s different from this time around.
I understand your point, but I saw some good moments from him last season, although not enough to fully convince me. However, during this preseason, he has displayed a bit of class with great passes and vision. The only thing I didn’t like was his poor defending, which is likely due to this not being his natural position. Let’s hope for the best.
