Sky: Probable XIs for Atalanta vs. Milan – 3-4-1-2 versus 4-2-3-1

By Oliver Fisher -

On the eve of AC Milan’s trip to face Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium, some indications have emerged regarding how both teams are likely to line up.

Stefano Pioli gave an injury update during his pre-match press conference today, while Sky have offered what they believe will be the starting line-ups of the two sides.

They believe that Milan will once again line-up with Theo Hernandez at centre-back given that Simon Kjaer will not recover. Fikayo Tomori will be his partner, with Davide Calabria at right-back and Alessandro Florenzi at left-back in front of Mike Maignan.

A midfield double pivot is expected with Tijjani Reijnders and Yunus Musah operating deeper than Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who is tipped to return to an advanced role.

Rafael Leao is pushing to make the bench while Olivier Giroud returns to lead the line, and he will be flanked by Samuel Chukwueze and Christian Pulisic (who we believe Sky have the wrong way around).

Probable Atalanta XI (3-4-1-2): Musso; Scalvini, De Roon, Kolasinac; Hateboer, Ederson, Koopmeiners, Ruggeri; Pasalic; Lookman, Muriel.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Tomori, Hernandez, Florenzi; Reijnders, Musah; Chukwueze, Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic; Giroud.

  1. After all of this, still end up playing 4231 lol 😂
Anyways Jovic should start. Let him get a proper run of games. I think he might be able to come good

  2. I too would advocate for Jovic starting, then bringing in Giroud later in the game. Jovic is slowly improving, Pioli should build on that.

    1. Went too fast here…

This looks pretty much like our go-to composition. But with Jovic doing so well lately, I feel like he would have deserved a start. It’d suck to see him drop off in form.

  3. Pioli no get fourth site to see jovic improvement, that’s why he the guu will not start the guy,but introduce him in 80minutes
