Sky reporting Peppe Di Stefano has defender Gianluigi Donnarumma amid criticism aimed at his actions after the 3-0 defeat to Lazio.
Milan dropped more crucial points as they suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss away at Lazio. For Gigio Donnarumma, it’s been seven consecutive games without a clean sheet. Despite this, the 22-year-old didn’t seem to bothered at full-time as he was seen laughing and smiling, catching up with former team-mate and mentor Pepe Reina.
Peppe Di Stefano spoke to Sky (via MilanNews) and stressed Donnarumma’s smile is not one that can change with the mood, especially considering that Pepe Reina is a friend of his and has been very useful to him in his career.
Regarding the renewal, Milan initially offered him €6m net per season plus €1m in bonuses for five years, then €7m plus €1m for five years, both rejected. Raiola’s idea is still €12m per season. Milan made a two-year offer with a €30-35m release clause in case of non-qualification for the Champions League, but at the moment this offer has not been answered.
The offer is high but the two parties are firm, and Milan’s position is to protect Donnarumma until the end of the season hoping that one day he will knock on the door, enter the room and finally sign.
