SM: Elliott do not back down; reinforcements will arrive in January if needed

By Vito Angele -

Bad luck and individual mistakes meant that Stefano Pioli did not win in his Milan managerial debut at San Siro on Sunday night.

However the match against Lecce gave important signals, above all from the tactical point of view of the game, revitalised by a new system: a 4-2-3-1 that in the possession phase turned into a 3-2-2-3 .

No sacrifices for the budget

Beyond the result, owners Elliott Management are very satisfied with the team’s performance. Of the rumours according to which Milan would need to sell to restore the balance, a source close to Elliott has told SempreMilan.com has made it known that they have no plans to make a big sale in January.

Instead, if it will be necessary – while always paying attention to Financial Fair Play – then the team will be further reinforced in the market, to continue with aspirations of a return to the European stage.
