SM: Milan management make decision on Abate’s future after Hellas Verona win

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan management have decided to keep Ignazio Abate as the head coach of the Primavera side despite a mixed season domestically.

Yesterday was a great afternoon for the Primavera against Hellas Verona as they won 3-0, ensuring that they are safe from relegation. The goals all came in the second half from Hugo Cuenca (one of the goals of the season), Jan-Carlo Simić and Diego Sia, earning a fine win.

Our colleagues at SempreMilan.it write that Abate has achieved the target set and the club are happy with the coach’s work who was able to bring the Primavera to safety after flirting with relegation all season.

Reflections would have been forced had the team dropped down a division again, but the recent upturn in the league plus of course the run to the semi-finals of the UEFA Youth League and the continued development of a young squad means he keeps the confidence of the management.
