SM: Milan’s potential swoop for Chelsea’s Ziyech described as ‘very difficult and ambitious’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan face a ‘very difficult’ pursuit of Hakim Ziyech if they wish to try and sign the forward from Chelsea this summer, we have been informed.

A number of different sources have labelled Ziyech as Milan’s number one target to replace Hakan Calhanoglu, who has decided to reject the Rossoneri’s contract offer in favour of a move to city rivals Inter, but the Morocco international is not expected to arrive cheaply if at all.

We spoke to a Chelsea insider Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.com about a number of different topics including Olivier Giroud’s future, Fikayo Tomori’s exit and the possibility of Tiemoue Bakayoko returning, and we also asked about whether Ziyech could really join Milan.

“I am not sure what’s going on from Milan’s side but I can see why they would want Ziyech. I think it is a very difficult and ambitious move to achieve with Chelsea unlikely to offload him easily despite his fringe role at the end of the season,” he said.

“As the window draws to a near and they struggle to offload either Tammy Abraham or Olivier Giroud, who they prefer to let go, then they may be more open to loaning out Ziyech but I assume they will ask for a very large loan fee.”
