Just as it seemed that the speculation surrounding a takeover of AC Milan by Louis Vuitton owner Bernard Arnault was over, fresh speculation emerged on Wednesday.

Italian outlet il Giorno made the bold claim that Arnault – who recently became the richest man in fashion and has a net worth of over $102bn (as per Wikipedia) – is interested in buying the Rossoneri from Elliott Management.

The report stated that Elliott have dropped their asking price to €950m as a result of the Rossoneri’s heavy losses on the balance sheet, with talks between the hedge fund and Arnault continuing throughout September.

The paper even went on to claim that Arnault would like to bring Max Allegri back to the club as a starting point in order to help results on the sporting side.

According to SportMediaset (via Calciomercato.com), a spokesperson for Arnault has reached out to deny the rumours and was straight to the point, reportedly stating: “No interest in Milan.”
