Sportitalia: Kjaer may reflect on Milan future after falling down the pecking order

Simon Kjaer’s stay at AC Milan beyond the summer is not certain as he is reflecting on his role at the club, according to a report.

As per Sportitalia, situation surrounding Simon Kjaer could become something to monitor in the remaining weeks of the transfer window, despite the fact there have been no real concrete exit rumours to this point.

The Dane is one of the leaders of the Rossoneri dressing room, but a non-prominent role in Stefano Pioli’s centre-back hierarchies could push him to make some reflections.

There is still time to figure things out and discover exactly where Kjaer fits into Pioli’s ranking, but it can be presumed that he will start behind Fikayo Tomori, Malick Thiaw and Pierre Kalulu.

Matteo Gabbia has left on loan but there has been talk about another defender arriving, which might push Kjaer down to fifth choice in the pecking order, something he may not accept.

  1. guys i just want to say that lets be more civil and respectful in the future, not only to be respectful to others but to ourselves and have some dignity. It’s nothing new here to have debates but recently it’s become increasingly chaotic and savage. I for one can admit I have had my very poor moments but overall as a community I hope we’re all milanisti at the end of the day and we all support the same club and have the same passion, so let’s be more calm going forward and be a community again because recently it’s been more of a milanisti civil war. Forza Milan Insieme ❤️🖤

  2. Much admiration for Kjaer. But that injury did him bad. I would definitely understand that decision from him, but We already are a centre back short, so should Kjaer decide to leave, there might be some desperate end to the transfer window . Plus we would loose the few remaining leaders in the dressing room

  3. We need an experienced CB with European and International experience if Kjaer leaves. Big hole in the back infront of Maignan

  4. I like kjaer but he needs to understand that he’s old and gets injured often that keeps him out for months. How can you be a starter if you can’t stay healthy?

  5. I would love to see him take the spot back and roll back the years, but it’s very unlikely unfortunately. I will always respect him and respect the decision he makes. His career, his life.

  6. As a dane i would be sad to see him go as i believe he was almost as important for our resurgence as ibra was but i would also have a hard time to see the danish international captain becoming a 4rth or 5th choice and kjær even said at a young age that he would like to join milan and many years later said he would like to retire here in danish interviews so i prefer him staying til next year. He might not be able to pay every match but he still has something to offer and if he could play maybe 15-20 serie a matches either as astarter or a substitute while playing a few games in the coppa italia and in the cl i would take it and i think he would too.

    1. Just the same like last season , he is 4th choice of CB but still get many playing time, only gabbia 5th choice not getting more than 100 minute playtime. Me personally want him stay until his contract expire to share his experience to young CB like thiaw or new CB but it is his choice to stay or not
