AC Milan have not exercised their option to buy Sandro Tonali yet as they wanting to try and secure a discount, according to a report.
The broadcaster Sportitalia (via MilanLive) mentions that Milan are in talks with Brescia over Tonali in the hopes of saving a few million euros. The Rossoneri have put two valid reasons forward: the general financial difficulties due to Covid-19, but also the fact his performances have not been consistent.
In reality Milan will certainly sign the 21-year-old and there is no chance of him not remained, since they have already invested €10m for the loan and they still believe in the player. It is likely that work will be done to lower the bonuses that Milan would pay, and a discount on this variable amount of €10m could be decisive. Developments are expected in the coming days regarding the situation, but either way Tonali should remain.
