There is still a distance between AC Milan and Franck Kessie over his renewal while interest from clubs abroad persists, according to a report.
Today’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive) confirms that Kessie’s agent has asked for a salary of €8m net per year in order for the Ivorian to extend his current contractual deadline beyond June 2022. At the moment the Rossoneri management meanwhile do not want to increase their offer from €6m per year, and currently ‘the distance seems unbridgeable’.
The feeling from Milan is that the reason Kessie has rejected their offer – or rather has not accepted it – is because more cash-rich proposals arrived from foreign clubs, in particular from Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham.
Even if Leonardo denied any contacts, there is a belief that agent George Atangana has spoken to the Parisians, while Antonio Conte’s esteem for Kessie is already known. Now, we must wait and see what plays out.

His ambition is to go play in the conference league ROFL
Playing for legendary club as a leader and the most valued player loved by fans. You’re doing great here, you are a leader, everyone wants you to be here. AC Milan is like a home for you. Millions of fans are waiting for you to stay and lead the team at this important moment of potential revival. Plus 6 millions in your pocket and bonuses. You know the league, no risks and no adaptation period.
Or just go for potential 2 million more and put on risk everything you’ve achieved working so hard. Plus there’s no guarantee not to end up as a benched player considering how rich PSG are. They can always buy another player for the role. Someone with more instagram followers and hype around. And no leadership role — just spend your career in the shadow of more popular players like Neymar or Messi whilst all the fame goes to them no matter how much effort you put for the victory. Really, you can win CL with PSG but everyone will consider it as a personal trophy of famous PSG trio. Look at Di Maria lol.
Of course there’s also Spurs. But what they really fight for? For 5th place in a good season? And where they will be when Newcastle start spending money and ruining EPL balance? On the 6th place in a good season?
Just sign the contract and enjoy being home. Money will come eventually if you keep doing like that.
That guy obviously thinks way too much of himself. He calls himself some sort of a leader and you could see what happened when Ibra and Kjaer came, team started to follow a leader and playing better as there was none before they came. I dislike him already, even without the contract situation, faker.
Nothing says Leader like lying to the fans about the contract (“Don’t worry – it will be signed”).
His Milan career is over and everyone knows it. He didn’t feel like celebrating his goals at Empoli ”cos he doesn’t care about Milan (anymore). He just wants to get away where he gets more money.
Leonardo is the one behind all these, this was how he made donnaruma to choose PSG over Milan, He is at it again and kessie will go to PSg, they lack physicality in their mifldfeild and kessie is the target.
Kessie wants to stay but the deal of other clubs are offering are just too good, I think kessie underated his own performance last season, he never believed he could get such huge offers from those top clubs, that was why he said he will sign Milan contract when he was playing for his country but when he came back to Italy and saw the huge offers of PSG and others on the table, he went ballistic……a combined 10m salary from PSG with the commissions and bonus, and also the opportunity to play with Messi, Neymar, mbappe, Ramos and unite with his friend donnaruma, and even have the opportunity to win champions league and also the idea of stepping out of your comfort zone and test waters…..All these will put confusion in any of this modern footballer, and if I was kessie I will be confused, what is good is good and kessie got married not long ago so……whatever choice he made, I will not blame him, we moved from donnaruma and we will still move from him, that’s football.
Let him leave. He obviously just wants to go to the team that will pay him the most $$ – and that is his right. We should have sold him in summer to make money off his sale and not lose him on a free like Donnaruma and Hakan, but that damage is already done. What we CAN and MUST do is look to the future and sign his replacement in KAMARA who is available for a minimal cost (10M) for a player with such immense talent, experience and upside. This should be priority #1 this January. Next is securing our future RW in FAIVRE (15M) – again another young talent with experience and upside. Adil will come in summer and be our new CAM and CB and Striker we focus on this summer when more players will be available like Botman, Vlahovic, Nunez, etc…
