‘A nice surprise’ – Tare admits Leao can become a ‘true champion’ in new Milan

This week, Igli Tare revealed some information from his first conversations with Rafael Leao, and more importantly, how he was left surprised by the AC Milan star.

There is a feeling among Milan fans that this year can be different. The initial signs of the summer are promising, and there is a reset underway. Above all, though, there is hope for Leao. In the last Scudetto win, it was the work of the Portuguese that was so pivotal.

Now, a repeat could occur.

Tare’s trust

Everything suggests that the star will be pivotal to the immediate future of the Rossoneri. A centralised role, and the hope to bring him to his best level. Preparation is already underway, and Tare discussed some information from his early conversations with the winger earlier this week.

“I think Leao is a true champion: few in today’s football decide matches on their own. He is a fundamental player for our team, but also for our project.

“I had the opportunity, and so did the coach, to speak seriously with him and I had a nice surprise: from the outside, you may have a different opinion, but when you get to know him, you find a very competitive guy; his questions were about how the team will be strengthened.

“I consider him an important pawn in our project: he has everything to become a true champion. He has always shown it, but I think he hasn’t shown what he really can yet. Offers? We haven’t received anything yet: the interests are all market rumours.”

Tare and, more importantly, Massimiliano Allegri, are not the first to try and reach a new level of Leao. However, they could be the first to succeed in their mission.

  1. If Leao doesn’t leave this summer then he lacks the confidence and ambition to be a top player.

Theo in my opinion was, at his best, the more dangerous of the 2.
Shame to break up the duo

If we had sold Leao for big money he was replaceable with the likes of Doue, Williams, Kvara etc
Theo – there is no replacement bar maybe A.Davies

  2. “I think Leao IS a true champion:”
    ……

“I consider him an important pawn in our project: he has everything to BECOME a true champion.

    1. That entire interview was a PR joke. Nothing but Contradictions and glossing over anything important or relevant.

Sure Pal, Leao is gonna become next level after YOU talk to him…

  3. Maybe this is the decisive season for leao. If Milan doesn’t qualify European football again, he will be sold.
