Theo Hernandez explains why current preseason has him feeling ‘better than last year’ – video

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez has revealed that he is feeling better than last season from a physical point of view as he reflected on the win over Marseille.

Milan ran out 2-0 winners against a side that secured their return to the Champions League with a second-placed finish in Ligue 1 last season, and both goals came in the first half as Junior Messias and Olivier Giroud each netted.

Theo was interviewed by Milan TV at the end of Sunday evening’s friendly match against Marseille, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“We played a really very good match. We are preparing to start the season well and we have seen today that we are ready for next week and for the 13th [first game against Udinese],” he said.

You were born here, in Marseille. Was it exciting for you today?

“It’s nice to play here, the environment is incredible. We had a great match and we have to continue like this.”

Of all the pre-seasons you’ve had with Milan, you seem particularly fit this time. How do you feel?

“It is true that this season I have prepared better than last year, now we have to keep working. All this also to the physical work we have done in recent weeks and we must continue like this.”
