GdS: Milan close to announcing renewal of star until 2026 – confirmation arrives from Maldini

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will soon be able to announce the renewal of Theo Hernandez just as Paolo Maldini’s words before the game against Juventus last night confirmed.

Maldini spoke to reporters before the game against Juve at San Siro last night and confirmed what has been reported in the media over the past few days and weeks, that being that the Rossoneri are closing in on an agreement with the Frenchman to extend his deal beyond the current 2024 deadline.

“With Theo Hernandez we are close to the renewal, we will meet with the agent shortly but we practically agree,” he said. La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) confirms that the full-back will shortly sign an extension until 2026.

It would certainly be a big boost for the Rossoneri to get another renewal across the line after Kjaer, Calabria and Saelemaekers, especially given the difficulties that the directors had in negotiating new contracts with Donnarumma and Calhanoglu, plus Kessie and Romagnoli at the moment.
