Theo Hernandez admits he has been ‘mentally low’ and reflects on ‘three important points’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez reflected on three ‘important points’ against Torino tonight, suggesting that the recent issues have been ‘all mental’.

Milan simply needed to snap their seven-game winless run (across all competitions) against Torino at San Siro this evening and they managed to do so thanks to a 1-0 win that was far from a vintage performance but was much better defensively.

Olivier Giroud got the only goal of the game in the second half as Theo Hernandez found his compatriot with a lovely cross from the right that the striker met with a perfect glancing header that nestled inside the far post.

Theo spoke to DAZN after the game to reflect on what was another largely uninspiring performance but one that resulted in three very valuable points, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“These are three important points, we come from games we didn’t know how to play well, but now we’re going forward,” he began.

“I think that when you lose a lot of games it’s all mental. We are a strong team, we are united and the fans are with us too. Let’s move forward.”

On Giroud: “He missed scoring and I’m happy with him.”

On Ibrahimovic: “Ibra always wants more, he’s a coach-player. Thanks to him too we won.”

On Tottenham: “We want to win, a difficult game but we want to work well these days.”

On his form: “After the World Cup I was mentally low in morale, but now I think I’ll be back.”

  1. Seemed like he’s finally getting back to his pre-WC form. We desperately need his runs and he may be the only player who can put in a decent cross. Forza Theo!
