CorSport: Theo Hernandez’s recovery time and Pioli’s idea to replace him

By Oliver Fisher -

Theo Hernandez will be given the time that he needs to recover from a muscle injury that will see him miss France’s UEFA Nations League action.

According to today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), Stefano Pioli will in no way rush Theo Hernandez’s return to the field. The French full-back has found a stretch of his right adductor and it will take at least a couple of weeks before he is able to return to the field.

The international break certainly gives Pioli a hand, and Theo Hernandez will undergo new tests next week in the hope of being able to return for at least one of the two big matches scheduled for October against Chelsea in the Champions League and Juventus in the league.

To replace the former Real Madrid man, Pioli is currently evaluating two alternatives: the natural replacement would be Fode Ballo-Touré, but the idea of playing Sergino Dest on the opposite side to his preferred right-back role is also gaining momentum.
