There is nothing concrete regarding the rumours that Chelsea are interested in signing Theo Hernandez who will instead renew his contract with AC Milan.
During his latest podcast, Fabrizio Romano spoke about the left-backs that have been linked with Chelsea and references some rumours from France that the Blues want Theo Hernandez to come in and provide cover at wing-back given the injury to Ben Chilwell.
However, there is no possibility of this happening because Theo is close to signing a renewal with Milan and he should do so ‘very soon’. The player is ‘super happy’ to be with the Rossoneri and appreciates having worn the captain’s armband in the first two games of 2022.
He is therefore destined to remain with Milan beyond the January window while Chelsea are instead looking to recall Emerson Palmieri from Lyon to get some cover for the left flank rather than a big expense.
