Theo Hernandez: “Those who don’t play for AC Milan with pleasure don’t understand football”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan fullback Theo Hernandez has answered a number of questions from fans on Twitter about being a Rossoneri player.

Having arrived from Real Madrid in the summer as part of a window which saw six players join Milan, many would argue that Hernandez has been easily the best of said recruits.

The Frenchman is actually the team’s top scorer with six goals in all competitions, leading to suggestions that he is now attracting interest from a number of Europe’s elite clubs.

Carlo Pellegatti recently told Calciomercato.com though that Milan should be wary as ‘assaults from the top clubs will soon begin’ for Hernandez, but during an interview with il Corriere della Sera his agent Manuel García Quilón spoke well about Milan and about his client’s future.

Interestingly, that same report noted that Hernandez – who cost Milan €20m – is now worth €50m, a 250% increase in market value.

However, it seems as though the 22-year-old is only thinking about his future at Milan. Here are some of his comments.

“Maldini chose me but no pressure, only pride and responsibility. Paolo is a mirror in which to look. Playing on the same field in which he played is a great motivation for doing my better.”

“If I think Milan can soon reach the top of Europe? Undoubtedly.”

“Those who don’t play for AC Milan with pleasure don’t understand football.”
