CM: Theo Hernandez makes World Cup debut in bad circumstances but impresses

Theo Hernandez is rightly attracting praise for his performance against Australia last night as he played a role in helping France come back from defeat.

After a quarter of an hour Theo had already made a mark as his cross for Adrien Rabiot resulted in the equaliser, and France ended up winning the game 4-1 with the Milan full-back one of the protagonists along with his team-mates Olivier Giroud.

Lucas Hernandez has suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee as per an official note from the French football federation, which is obviously not the way Theo wanted to get his chance, but he should now be the starting left-back.
