Theo Hernandez is heading towards the ‘final stages’ of his time at AC Milan, and now information on his possible destination plus replacements is emerging.
As Quotidiano Sportivo report this morning, Theo has been pretty much an immovable starter under both Paulo Fonseca (who did bench him briefly for attitudes he did not like) and Sergio Conceicao. Despite this, the management are ready to move on from him.
The elephant in the room is his contract, expiring in June 2026. The player has always let it be known that he wants to renew through his agent Manuel Garcia Quilon, both publicly with the comments outside Casa Milan and by rejecting Como’s offer in January.
Milan instead accepted the figure close to €50m proposed by Como, who the Frenchman will face again on Saturday at San Siro. A completely different tag (almost €100m) was going around this summer when Bayern Munich were linked.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, when asked about star players, has always said: “Everything under control, everyone’s happy.” Geoffrey Moncada, on the other hand, recently stated: “We can’t afford to lose players for free.”
In recent times, after the vague optimism leaked about an agreement around €5m net per year plus bonuses (the player receives €4m currently), things have come to a standstill. In the meantime, Chelsea and Manchester United have shown an interest.
Theo’s meeting with Paolo Maldini could soon become a symbol of Milan’s past, with the club looking at replacements. Maxim De Cuyper (Club Brugge) and Tyrick Mitchell (Crystal Palace) are the latest names, but the sporting director and coach must be chosen first.
Mitchell ???!!@ my God, how low are we scaping, this is AC Milan and we are looking at signing this player……I’m lost for words, first Emerson Royal and now this, wow….just wow, mid table obscurity awaits
Well, Mitchell is (by Transfermarkt) the highest rated English LB in market value, and his contract is due this summer 2025 so he would be for free. Not that those facts are to justify that AC Milan should go for him; it seems this management values too much players from either US or England. If we are to go for a player from Crystal Palace, should be Marc Guéhi, his contract ends in 2026 so he only has 1 more year left, and we could offer them Tomori and replace him with Guéhi (Tomori plus maybe 15 M; Guéhi market value is 45 M).
And for LB instead of Theo, who could Milan realistically go for? Udogie? i don´t think Tottenham will let him go for anything less than 50 M (contract ends in 2030). Cambiasso? Milan do give Juventus its players, they are not as dumb to do the same of giving their players to Milan. Grimaldo? maybe, specially if Xabi Alonso does not continue with Leverkusen next season, for around 30 M perhaps? but is very hard to think RedBird will pay that amount for a Left Back
Unfortunately if Theo decides to leave. Than only we stayed with Leao. Milan transformed completely by Red Bird management. They even less care about player status.
Theo lost his ability and will to play strong at Milan. Any sale above 4 million is capital gain.
Milan is in bad shape in next season so if they gain 20- 30 million they will cut loses a lot.
I personally hope that biggest flop will leave Milan if icon like Hernandez also leave…
Apparently, it is not Theo decides to leave, it is the Red Bird does not want to renew contract with Theo. A lot of rumor about Theo’s asking high salary for renewal, and his agent has declared these rumors. But Theo always want to renew.
Now, Red Bird’s rumor team start to add news that Theo does not want to renew, which is not the truth.
The only player I will accept is Udogie. Given Spurs will be having a “rebuild” of their own in the summer, it’s not impossible.
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!
Take Leao with you!
“We cannot be worse next season as we are this.”
Gerry and the RottenTurds: “hold my beer.”
Yes yes yes! Please keep buying non italians! We need to change our logo and uniforms next!
What Italian is he who plays at left back and is so good?
Cambiasso
Lol. I love when people just throw around names as if they’re not on contracts or worth much. Cambiaso is the national team LB and plays for Juventus, the most titled side in Serie A, who are on course for a CL spot. Why in the world would he leave them for us? Why in the world would Juventus sell him to us, a direct rival? The player under contract until 2029 and with a valuation of 40M, meaning they will ask for 70-80M anyway. If Cambiaso does leave, it will be to a PL club that can meet his transfer valuation and pay his wage demands. He is already being linked to the PL. People need to grow up and get real.
Calafiori, balance in both defense & atack. He cannot solo run like theo but he is better at defense to cover leao
Bastoni, Callafiori, Cambiaso, Udogie..
all of Theo replacement candidates mentioned is in Parisi level which is not good enough, downgrade/ worse than the worst version of Theo
Another completely unrealistic list of players. None are affordable and all play for clubs that are doing better than us, except for maybe Udogie, but why would he leave Premier League wages (nevermind Tottenham would ask for ~50M). Should we get Haaland and Vinicius Junior too?
which Italian leftback to buy? And what has Italy achieved at the international stage for around 2 decades other than the Donnarumma led Euro!
Keep Theo!
We will not be able to get a better player.
Yes, he is not in form but I think he will be next season if we play like a proper team.
My thinking as well
Mitchell? What are these people smoking
No one moves until a SD and then a coach are brought it. Everything until then is just click bait, and Theo is low hanging fruit …
Sempre Milan my ass this is sempre Inter… any small scuffle or loss of form, they are pushing our best players to the exit door and some stupid fans would go along with it… First it was Leao, some fools here were shouting sell Leao and now it is sell Theo. Some people really let others do the reasoning for them.
Look at Milan now, there no vision, waste player gigi donnaruma, kessie, theo, cdk, who else again will be out with zero value, or out with under value ar market player, so dumb n dumber. Cardinale out, Saudi Arabia in, take over Milan
Im ok if he stay, but also if we sell him for 25-30m€ its also ok. He is there almost 6 years, its long time , Idk if he is true Rossonero, but if he want to go and try another league, he can go . He was good, help us with 2 trophy’s in last 4 years .
who the heck is mithcell no thanks, theo should stay if we’re going for bad players
