TMW: AC Milan joined by Juventus in race to land fan favourite currently at PSG

By Oliver Fisher -

Juventus are ready to rival AC Milan for the signing of Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva, according to a report.

Our correspondent Vito Angele recently told us that the Rossoneri are thinking about a reunion with the 34-year-old and that although at the moment there are still no concrete negotiations, Milan could soon work with the Brazilian’s agent.

Speculation has then continued since, with a number of different outlets confirming that Paolo Maldini and Zvonomir Boban are keen on adding some experience to the rearguard with a move to reunite Thiago Silva with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

In addition, his agent even admitted that his client has a ‘great love’ for Milan, despite also revealing that his preference would be to stay in the French capital.

According to Tutto Mercato Web (via Le10Sport) though, Milan may face competition for his signature as their rivals Juventus want to sign the Brazilian.

They want to reunite the 34-year-old with former PSG midfielders Blaise Matuidi and Adrien Rabiot amid doubts over the long-term future of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci, the report claims.

As it stands Silva will be a free agent in June, so the Bianconeri may have the advantage of being able to offer Champions League football and likely more money, but it remains to be seen if their interest is concrete.
