TMW: Idea of Milan move slips away as Roma can close Belotti signing for €25m

By Oliver Fisher -

AS Roma appear to be closing in on the signing of Andrea Belotti from Torino and can seal a deal if they raise their offer, a report claims.

According to TMW, the captain of Torino – who has a contract expiring in 2022 – is in the sights of Roma who are looking for a starting centre-forward for next season given that Edin Dzeko is set to depart.

After seeing a first offer of €15m rejected, the Giallorossi have put €20m on the table, but the request of Torino is €30m. A raised bid from Roma at around €25m is likely to be enough to complete the operation, also because Belotti has already given his approval regarding the potential transfer to Rome.

The hypothesis of joining his boyhood club Milan is now further away, especially given that the Rossoneri have decided to move for Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud instead, as per multiple reports.

  1. Too bad. Belotti for 25M€ is a great deal! I can’t think of a better striker with such a low price tag.

And Belotti is a guaranteed 15-20 goal striker in Serie A. Same cannot be said about Giroud. Lots of “good” strikers who have scored plenty of goals elsewhere have failed in Italy against the world’s best defenses.

  2. Why are we not signing belotti???
This is so stupid from milan
We can easily beat roma to his signing if we want

  3. I’m sick and tired of Milan news….This guys are only after business and nothing more
    Always chasing after free transfer

  4. Like when Galliani refused to sign Tevez for 10m and instead went for Matri for 13m. Same mistake on Giroud over Belotti. Think quick maldini, come on. Get Belotti.
