TMW: Milan in advanced talks over Colombo loan but must find replacement

By Oliver Fisher -

Talks between AC Milan and Cagliari over a loan deal for Lorenzo Colombo are at an advanced stage but cannot go through until a replacement is sourced, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by TMW, the negotiations between the Sardinian club and the Rossoneri are at an advanced stage, while the discussions ongoing between Cagliari and the player through his entourage are also going well.

Even Milan seem to acknowledge that letting Colombo go out on loan for another season is the best course of action, but the deal hasn’t gone through yet because the management must find a replacement.

In the past season Colombo made 36 appearances across the league and the Coppa Italia with Lecce, scoring 6 goals including a penalty against Monza which sealed their top flight status.

After a preseason campaign in which he netted three goals, another loan spell for the 21-year-old is on the cards so he can get consistent starts and continue to develop.

  1. You know even if he goes on loan and does good there Milan still wont use him next season when he is back..
If they cant use him right now, when there is a clear lack of strikers they will. And dont give me that he is not ready… He’s ready

    1. Agreed. He should stay anyway but bottom half teams kill young strikers. He’d be better going to Samp. All he’ll learn at Cagliari is how to watch his teammates defend the whole match, then come back and still be ‘not ready’.

Meanwhile we bring in the also 21 year old Broja and get him nice and ready for Chelsea. Genius.

    2. Get off your couch and go coach Milan, pal. You’re wasting your time & talent. I’m sure you know better than Pioli whether Colombo is or isn’t ready. 🤣

  2. It’s just that he wasn’t all that good in pre-season. So that’s why we’re basically looking for someone else now. I’m not sure who, but maybe there are still some that Moncada is looking at.

Maybe we should just sign Ekitike and call it a day on the attack.
