TMW: Milan enquire about unwanted Napoli midfielder – the situation

Michael Folorunsho isn’t on the best of terms with Antonio Conte and could thus leave Napoli this summer, according to a report. AC Milan are one of the teams that have enquired about the situation, looking to bolster their midfield.

Folorunsho, who was with Italy at the Euros, spent last season on loan at Hellas Verona and impressed everyone. However, he’s not had the best of starts with the new Napoli manager Conte, who is willing to let the midfielder leave this summer.

According to Marco Conterio of TuttoMercatoWeb, Milan are one of the clubs that have enquired about the situation. They want to understand the cost and feasibility of a potential move, but Youssouf Fofana remains the first choice.

In addition to the Rossoneri, the likes of Atalanta, Fiorentina and Lazio are also interested in the 26-year-old. The Bergamo side had a deal wrapped up but were forced to allocate their budget elsewhere when Gianluca Scamacca tore his ACL, signing Mateo Retegui from Genoa.

Milan and Paulo Fonseca are keeping an eye on the situation as they believe Folorunsho could play both in the tandem and as an attacking midfielder. For now, however, it seems more like a mercato opportunity rather than concrete interest.

  1. Napoli looked awful vs serie B team yesterday and right after the game like a clockwork Conte does what Conte is known for, whinning, b!tching and complaining about transfers.
Watching De Laurentiis and Conte going at it this season will be a show

    1. Yet everyone is predicting Napoli to finish second this season 🙂

Conte’s problem is Napoli wont be in Europe so they aren’t attracting many players worth a damn. Sprinkle in some ADL sensitivities and ego and this may become an explosive season to observe 🙂

  2. We are making a big mistake here. We need a Striker more than a defensive midfielder. Fofana will come yes he will surely come but we need a striker
What if morata is injured because he’s a human who takes over from him?

    1. What if morata is never injured and the st just sits and collects mone..

We also have jovic and okafor to step up if they’re needed. They score goals, there is a precedent here for them to score goals again….

    2. I disagree..

We need a DM more than anything right now, who ever will be our main CB, they will suffer without a proper solid DM.

A solid DM can balance the whole team.

  3. People are down on Folorunsho, but in the couple of Verona games that I watched last season he seemed to play very well. A physically large/strong midfielder that seems to be able to play as an AM, DM and mezzala, so he fits the identikit of the types of midfielders we like nowadays. In a way he is a combination of Fofana and Samardzic in terms of role. Napoli seems to be desperate to offload him (because they need cash as they were banking on selling Osimhen, which hasn’t happened yet) so he would cost under 10M, and he would count towards the UEFA lists.

  4. Even if fofana coming to ACM , this kid will be good as fofana back up but need to sell adili & pobega first to give room for both fofana and this kid
