Mike Maignan has been a key player for AC Milan ever since he arrived at the club and the Rossoneri are now ready to sit down and discuss a contract renewal. Initial talks have been held and the plan is clear, a report claims.
The goalkeeper is considered one of the best in the world and in addition to shot-stopping, he’s crucial in the build-up play for Milan. It’s natural, therefore, that he has attracted the interest of many top clubs.
As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, the Rossoneri want to renew his contract until 2028 (the current deal will expire in 2026) and they are well aware that Maignan will ask for a top salary. Leao is the top earner at €5m per year and it’s clear that the goalkeeper will ask for similar figures, perhaps even higher.
Gorgio Furlani doesn’t want to waste time with a long negotiation and thus intends to get the deal over the line very soon. A significant pay rise, therefore, is a certainty for the Frenchman.
Best GK sure, no doubt about that, but also one of the most injury prone in recent years too. Hopefully he will be fit for derby…
If the 8-10M story is true, I don’t think he’s gonna stay with us.
