Di Marzio: Latest on Tomori and Bennacer’s conditions ahead of Inter game

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain hopeful of getting Fikayo Tomori back for Sunday’s derby against Inter but will almost certainly be without Ismael Bennacer, a report claims.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Milan players returned to Milanello today after a day off granted by Stefano Pioli, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Sergino Dest, Alessandro Florenzi, Fikayo Tomori, Mike Maignan and most recently Ismael Bennacer currently injured.

Bennacer worries Pioli and the Rossoneri fans a lot as he has sustained a problem in his left hamstring. With five days until the derby against Inter, the Algerian does not seem likely to recover and at the moment it is highly unlikely he will be available.

Tomori and Dest on the other hand seem to be recovering well and are continuing their therapies, after both missing the match against Sassuolo. The English defender hopes to be able to return to the field for the derby.

Mike Maignan, on the other hand, is still working separately and continues on his way to his return, which seems to be getting closer and closer. Ibrahimovic and Florenzi are also still training individually.

  1. Luckily we don’t need to worry. We have hakan calhanagoulglu and Frank kessie on the bench like best possible rotation..

Or.. sh*t. We actually have Vranckx and Thiaw who don’t play this season… Nice.

  2. Why do our players get long term injuries? There must be changes in medical stuff this is really embarrassing for such a big club like Milan. Even losing 6 games in a row
